We are the creators behind Thecedlife, the social media channel where Cedric and Edith eat delicious home cooked meals. It may look ridiculous, but that’s only because dogs have been eating substandard food for far too long. 

Dog food was something that a person made up about 100 years ago to take advantage of new technology called extrusion. High pressure and high temperatures create balls of dough that are then made nutritionally complete with vitamin powders. Before this, and in many places still today, dogs eat real food, just like people

Words like vet approved, and balanced meals are required by law because most of the ingredients in pet foods are industrial byproducts or refined carbohydrates that have little nutritional value. For extrusion to work dog foods have to be about 40% carbohydrates or more. Worst of all, the cost of dog food does not guarantee better quality ingredients, with mycotoxin (toxins from mold) levels being similar between expensive and cheap dog foods. Several studies show that the levels of mycotoxins cause liver damage in even small amounts. 

“Did you know that dead and diseased animals are allowed in your pet food. All manufacturers have to do is heat it to a certain temperature and pressure and they can be made into pet food. “ 

The only way to ensure that your dog is getting the best possible food is to make it yourself. It’s not hard to do so and we’ve dedicated our lives to help you do it easily.
